god words

Button - Scripture
“For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.” John 3:17
Button - The People
Please pray for the people in the middle East. Jesus was born in the middle East; many great historical events have happened in the middle East; but there is much tension and there have been many wars there. Please pray that at this Christmas time, at least for now, there would be “peace on earth” throughout the middle East and the love of God would be poured out on people there.
Button - The Power Of Internet

Jesus was born to be our Savior! “For today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”

How is Jesus our Savior? Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Israel over 2,000 years ago. He was the Son of God and of the Virgin Mary — so He was both the Son of God and the Son of Man. As the Son of God, He was perfect and sinless. He came to this earth to save us from our sins.

The very name Jesus means “God is salvation”. God knew that we could not save ourselves from our sins. We are too stubborn, and too proud, and too selfish — and we deserve the judgment of God. But God sent His Son Jesus to born to a poor family; to live a sinless life; and then to suffer and die in our place. The Apostle John, one of Jesus’ followers, wrote “And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.”

Is Jesus your Savior today? Just like any gift, you must receive it for it to be yours. If you have prayed and truly asked forgiveness of your sins and for Jesus Christ to be your Savior, then Jesus Christ is your Savior today. Jesus saves us from hell, and sin, and the punishment for our sins and gives us hope for the future and the gift of eternal life. Let us praise Him together!

So, this week, let us pray and

  • Thank God for sending His Son Jesus Christ to be our Savior!
  • Ask God to help us reach the whole world with the message of His great love
  • Ask God to protect and bless your family and also our staff at Global Media Outreach

MERRY CHRISTMAS! The angels sang and told the world the wonderful news that Jesus was born. He came to earth to be our Savior! This is the most wonderful news in the world.
May God bless you this Christmas.

This is an actual response received at one of our Web sites:
“In 2008, I e-mailed your site for guidance, and I received an e-mail from one of the volunteers named Gregory. That e-mail changed my life. I am now a committed Christian and spread the light of Bible to everyone around me. Thank you for enlightening my life with Him. Thank Gregory if he's still a volunteer. I just wanted to thank you for this chance you gave me with this site.” D.

gods word

.)
Welcome to the NuggetCape Bonavista Lighthouse
Today's Devotional:
THE COMMAND AND A CALL, Part 4

Today in the concluding part of the series, let's look at a response of God's anointed to persecution from  enemies weaker than them!

Yes, strange as it seems, we even sometimes see enemies who are actually weaker than us who provoke us badly. Here it would be all the more tempting to settle scores because there would be no great fear of retaliation! Ask David, who was severely pricked by an uncouth, surly but not-so-strong Nabal (I Samuel 25)!

Now the temptation to get even at being insulted was too great even for a man of God's own heart (I Sam 25:21-22), especially as the provoker was not as strong as him!  But for the timely intervention of wise Abigail (Nabal's wife) and her wonderful intercession, David would have had the seared conscience of a man who took law into his own hands, all his life (I Sam 25:31)!

But what about Nabal, who heaped insults upon the anointed servant of God? He was not going to get away, was he? Though David forgave him, verses 37 and 38 of the same chapter record somberly the fact that Divine comeuppance by way of a premature death shortly caught up with that churlish character.

A short detour…

Forget physical persecution, as this David versus Nabal account testifies even insulting God's chosen ones' can prove costly for the careless lot.  Even with respect to the Nation of Israel, let us be careful with our words. I shuddered coming across a tirade against Israel by a Christian pastor recently. Even if all of Jewish actions in the simmering West Asia do not seem overboard, would it not serve us well to remember the Biblical mandate "Do not give him (Israel) your blessing and DON'T CURSE HIM" (Genesis 31:24-TLB)?

Jerusalem, as per the Biblical prophecy (Zech 12:1-3) could become ground zero of all Global tension in the imminent tribulation period. Are not all Global events, most notably the failed/truncated peace talks of recent vintage between Jews and Arabs, a harbinger of future events to come?

Jews deny that Jesus is the Messiah and Son of God, and our Arab friends are just as guilty.  No wonder in the early part of the Tribulation period the Anti-Christ would have countless admirers!

But the the book of Romans prophecies that the Jews will repent and seek Christ towards the end of Tribulation (Romans 11:26). One truth which cannot be denied is the fact that Israel is a tool in the hands of the Wise Creator, as He takes the World history to a climax. (for more on this topic, click on the following:http://www.jandsmministries.com/rev_pre.asp ).

To those following developments in West Asia in the media, I can only pen these words with an air of one pleading with folded hands, "those with eyes PLEASE SEE and those with ears PLEASE LISTEN" (Matt 13:9) for events are unfolding therein exactly in consonance with Biblical prophecies!  It's time to accept Jesus!  Now!  Coming to the other side of the coin…

Now moving back to the main track (I had used "a loop line", you see!), no essay on any topic is complete, till we look at both sides of the coin, as it were. What about those ruthless persecutors of Christians, who at some time realized the folly of their ways and repented? Did God forgive them?

There is an emphatic YES to this answer in the Scriptures.

What about Saul, the rabid Jewish persecutor, who became a mighty Christian apostle Paul, following his personal encounter with Christ, on the Road to Damascus (Acts 9:1-16)? Or for that matter the jailer who cruelly clamped the limbs of Paul and Silas in the Philippians' jail in the rusting stocks (Acts 16:24-24) but accepted Christ later?

God keeps the doors of forgiveness open to all who sincerely seek Him…yes to even to the likes of those who participate in terrorism and persecution, to those who are perpetuating the communal violence globally! So even as there is a command to persecuted Christians to forgive their persecutors, there is a call to the persecuting lot also to repent of their cruel ways and seek the true and ever living GOD, when there is still time (II Cor 6:1-2)! `

"Winners do not do different things, they do things differently"…wrote the wise management guru Shiv Khera in his book "You can win". In conclusion, I would like to slightly rephrase this wise sentence and put it this way: "Christians may not do different things but they are commanded do things differently". That is in the face of persecution (from all kinds of foes') we have been commanded to show love.

god

Dear Friends,

Something on re-creation and pro-creation is coming your way. Look for my comments at the end....

"Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it." (Prov 22:6)

Who would have ever thought that as a freshman in high school, I was a member of the Future Farmers of America? Come on, me a Future Farmer?  Just the thought of me being the future of farming, meant food production was in serious jeopardy. I have to grin when I think of it.  What motivated me to be a member of that group is still a mystery. Listen, I’m not dissing the FFA. I just can’t seem to recall why I joined, especially since there were no girls involved. Yes, I did have a wide variety of interests but thoughts of pursuing girls were on the top of my list. Let’s face reality. All of us want to think that our teenage sons or grandsons are the exceptions. They are the most mature, idealistic and visionary individuals on the planet. Oh, you may think that foremost on their mind is the Heisman trophy, discovering the cure for  cancer, or building the biggest skyscraper in the world. But in reality, at fifteen years old, there is really only one thing on a boys mind. Now, before we assign blame or guilt, remember it was God’s idea. The discovery of the opposite sex is a good thing. Now when I witness raging hormones and the goofiness of an adolescent, I am comforted to know the human race will never die out.

Of course, like the handling of dynamite and other explosives, which require extensive training and strict guidelines for its use, young men and women need guidance in their newly discovered desires. If not, what was intended for good can be destructive and dangerous. Before the days that government felt it was their duty and obligation to instruct our children in such matters, Parents took responsibility. I’ll never forget my dad having his infamous “man talk” with me. As a young teen, I sat quietly at the kitchen table as we both endured his seemingly endless illustrations and analogies of how we got here. He really didn’t explain much I didn’t already know but I didn’t want to spoil his moment by filling him in on the details. So, I sat wide-eyed and attentive. I think it was the first time I ever saw my father blush. Objectively, if the information he presented was put in print as an instruction manual, I think there would be genuine fear of the race dying out. My dad never brought up the subject again. Only periodically, when we were watching TV when two people kissed on the screen, would he glance my way, from his favorite chair and say in a soft voice, “remember our talk?” I would nod in the affirmative which made him proud that he had set me on the straight and narrow.  I have to say one thing about my dad, at least he tried. My parents were from the World War II generation, who were trained and educated in a morality which was understood. Even though he was not a Christian, there was a general sense of right and wrong.

Wow, have things changed. The 1960’s generation of hippies, free love and amorality are now grandparents and their children’s children are the beneficiaries of their dumping of God’s absolutes. With no objective source or foundation of right and wrong, is it any wonder young people are confused? Our world is now morally rotten to the core. Children andteens are fully exposed to the vilest of pornography, sometimes streaming live on their personal computers. “Hook-ups” is a term used these days for casual sexual encounters among young people and it’s not considered a big deal anymore to have sex on a first date. Naturally, with an out of control morality comes epidemic abortion, teen pregnancy and disease.

According to a report in The New York Times, Unmarried mothers gave birth to 4 out of every 10 babies born in the United States.” The only “absolute” today is the promotion that youth need to find their “Sexual identity.” According to the “experts” on this subject, this “discovery” is only found by experimentation with various sexual partners and same-sex trysts.

Is there an answer for spiraling moral decay? Yes, and the answer is simple yet profound. If all else fails, we must go back to the original instruction manual. God, who is the maker of all things, gave us written instructions on how it all works. I summed them up in two sentences: Sex is a wonderful and even spiritual activity created by God for pleasure and pro-creation. It is reserved only for a man and a woman in a covenant relationship and anything outside of this axiom is dangerous and destructive.  That’s it. “Experts” will scoff at these simple instructions from God’s Word as “Victorian,” “homophobic” or “archaic.” However, whether one believes in God or not, if followed, these simple statements would completely end much of the heartache and problems that are associated with relationships.

Parents, we cannot escape the mandate from God Himself to teach our children. Not only are we to teach them the things of God regarding salvation, honesty and good character, but especially are we to teach them God’s standards regarding relationships. We are the ones, not government, who are responsible to instruct them. Don’t put it off and don’t leave it to others. Don’t think they are too young to begin to introduce simple concepts regarding sexuality. Ask God for wisdom on how to teach them. The only way to stem the tide of immorality in this generation is to teach God’s morality. Let it begin in our children.

"Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it."

Dear Friends,

Just one more dimension...

"Because iniquity shall be multiplied, the love of the many shall wax cold"
(Matt. 24:12 R.V.)

Moral decay every where? Signs of the imminent II Coming of the Lord?
The world going back to the days of rampant sinning of Noah's times (Luke 17:26) before the Lord's II Coming? Be that as it may,
how about ensuring maximal circulation of this mail on “God-given Recreation and Procreation under
 the Protection of  Marriage”.
